A few weeks ago, I took a trip to Boston's Museum of Fine Arts in between my morning and afternoon classes. As an arts student, I get free admission whenever I please, so decided to go in the morning before the school groups had arrived, and the swaths of retirees swarm the impressionist wing. What a magnificent feeling of solidarity, tranquility, and a rush of inspiration I felt walking alone in the marble rooms. It was just me and my relationship with some of the world's greatest art. Oh, and my camera!

a fenway treasure
Gosh, I just took quite the hiatus! Midterms week at the conservatory and a recital monopolized my time completely. I barely put on a nice outfit all week, let a lone had time for a shoot! Oh well, I'm now relaxed and rested after a little weekend skiing with family and will be back on top of things! It is lovely to be home in Maine for a few days before heading back to the city to get some work done over spring break. I never get over how quiet the nights are here.

Where do you feel most creative? Where are some of your favorite museums? What a magical place, the MFA!

Wow, awesome pics! I love going to the museum! I love art! Studied art in college...so interesting! Had to write about Picasso and Manet!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your super sweet comment - you made my day! Hugs xxx
I do love frequenting the MFA to visit some of the classics like Renoir and the new Sargent addition but from an artist's point of view things there are a little on the dry side. In my opinion, the best (art) museum in Boston is the ICA. Their permanent collection is so-so but they usually have amazing rotating exhibitions. Last one I saw was a collage artist, Mark Bradford...probably the best exhibition I've seen there to date! It's a great place to go if you're looking for something fresh. Ba do ba do ba do be da daaah! <3
ReplyDeleteKatya! Take me to the ICA! <3

I love to visit the Museum- my favorite is the Met. It's so exhilarating to see all that beautiful art, but my most favorite part about it is that it is like taking a trip through time, and it makes history so real. Hope your exams went well ^-^ x
ReplyDeleteMuseums always make me feel nostalgic, and stuck in a dreamland. There's also an eerie atmosphere to museums. The feelings add to the experience.
ReplyDeleteSweet blog !

Love going to the MFA with my husband and 3 year old. Perfect thing to do on a lazy Sunday. My daughter is obsessed with a particular painting in the America's wing and we love the cafe there too. Love the pictures.
